NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice

Introduction

The NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice qualification is aimed at candidates who are responsible for developing and applying health and safety procedures day-to-day in their organisation. They may be a staff member, supervisor or manager looking to improve their knowledge and skills.

The awarding body for this qualification is ProQual Awarding Body and the regula- tory body is the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). This qualification has been accredited onto the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).

This qualification is recognised by The Institution of Occupational Health (IOSH) as a route to membership.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. This qualification is approved for candidates aged 19+.

Assessment

This qualification is competence-based, candidates must demonstrate the level of competence described

Delegates will generate evidence that will be signed off and approved by an assessor. Once learners have fulfilled all of the requirements set by ProQual, one of our internal verifiers will assess the work and sign it off as complete. Delegates will then be awarded the qualification.

Qualification Structure

Candidates must complete all of the Mandatory units.

  • Develop and implement the Health and Safety policy
  • Develop and implement effective communication systems for Health and Safety information
  • Develop and maintain individual and organisational competence in Health and Safety matters
  • Identify, access and control Health and Safety risks
  • Develop and implement proactive monitoring systems for Health and Safety
  • Develop and implement reactive monitoring systems for Health and Safety
  • Develop and implement Health and Safety emergency response systems and procedures
  • Develop and implement Health and Safety review systems• Maintain knowledge of improvements to influence health and safety practice

Completing NVQ

The NVQ Level 6 Health and Safety must be completed within 24 months, This can be completed in 8-12 weeks as long as you are prepared to work with your assessor and gather the correct evidence, Approximately 1,064 learning hours should be dedicated to completion of the qualification.

GradIOSH

Once completed NVQ you will be able to apply for GRADIOSH status. A great way to enhance your career opportunities.
